Chicopee- Christian C. Diaz, 37, of Chicopee passed away May 4, 2018. Christian, son of the late Soledad Diaz, was born in Philadelphia, PA on June 9, 1980. Raised in Springfield, he attended Cathedral High School and went on to become a member of the Roofers Union Local 248. He is survived by his daughters, Cienna Diaz and Ava Diaz both of Springfield; his maternal grandmother, Eligia Cedeño; his twin brother, Antoine Diaz of Chicopee; his brothers, Wilson Geraldo, Pedro Carrasquillo, Omi Carrasquillo, and Alexis Martinez all of Philadelphia, PA; his sisters, Melissa Diaz of Hartford, CT, Yvonne Diaz of East Longmeadow, Jessica Jenkins of Springfield, and Evangelina Rodriguez of Springfield; his girlfriend, Tania Pultz of Springfield; his father figure, David Williams of Springfield; and many extended family members. A tremendously reliable friend, Christian cherished the countless friendships he made and was extremely well-liked by the families of those friends as well. He was beloved by many from his days growing up in Springfield’s Forest Park neighborhood including David Baker, Chris McDonald, Pat Gottschlicht, the Murray family, Chris Marino, Pete Drane, Jimmy Callahan, Mickey & Meghan Hall, Marty & Lauren Downey, Leigh (Anderson) Morgan, Annie Hetzel Busch, Matt Battista, Pete Gallagher, the late Anthony DiGiovanni and the late Brian Metzger among many, many others. Through sports and school, his circle of friends expanded dramatically over the years; growing to include Rocky Kelly, Christian McCollum, Breandan Ireland, Ryan Robinson, Bobby Murphy, Eric Carlson, Michael Buoniconti, Mike Rivard, Anthony Luvera, Nick Polimeni, Tina Reno, Maura (Neal) Fitzpatrick, Mel Magill, Kady Robbins and Andrea Hughes-Nelson along with scores of others. For those who knew him best – and even those who didn’t – he was an endless resource of kindness, compassion and humor who will be missed dearly. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4PM to 7PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. All Funeral Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Christian Diaz Memorial Fund, in care of Freedom Credit Union.
