Joan Clarissa Earley Duncanson born July 23rd, 1942, departed her life to be with the Lord on July 6, 2018, at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA. She was born in Fairchance, PA, to the late Robert P. Earley and Mary (Walton) Earley. Joan was baptized by the late Rev. TJ McGhee in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Fairchance, PA. Upon graduating from Fairchance Georges High School, she moved to Springfield, MA where she worked for Monson Developmental Institute for over 20+ years. Joan continued her love for helping others by being a foster parent for over 10+ years. She also volunteered in the community for various agencies. Predeceased also by her siblings, Ruby Roberson, Loretta Green-Wiley, Robert P. Earley, Jr., and Clifford Earley; she leaves to cherish her life and memory to her husband of 33 years Albert G. Duncanson (Porter); her son Marcus P. Earley Sr.; grandchildren Asiana R. Andrews, Marcus P. Earley Jr., Marquise J. Earley; great-grandchild Na’Khi N. Norris; sisters Mary Jane (Roy) Jones and Virginia Houston, both of Uniontown, PA; step-children Arlington Duncanson Sr., Gaye Marie Poole, Glenda Forrest, Shellyann Thompson, and Claudine Williams; and a host of extended family and friends. Calling hours will be from 10-11am on Saturday July 14, 2018 at St. Mark’s CME Church, 64 Dresden Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Funeral service begins at 11am. Burial to follow on Monday, July 16, at 10am at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
