Obituary for David A. Christian, Sr.

David A.  Christian, Sr.
Wilbraham-David A. Christian Sr. 61, of Wilbraham, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 surrounded by family at home. David, son of David R. Christian and the late Vonceal (Carswell) Christian was born in Bronx, NY on September 24, 1957. He later moved to Springfield during high school and graduated from Roger L. Putnam Vocational-Technical High School. David was the Assistant Vice President/Renovation Branch Manager of Wells Fargo Bank and sat on the board of the Springfield Neighborhood Housing Authority and was involved in various other non-profit organizations. His favorite place to visit was Newport, RI, where he loved to eat, shop and walk amongst the mansions and take in the fresh air at the coastlines. David was a accomplished bass guitarist and had an amazing ear for music. David loved all forms of entertainment; art, music, theatre, stand-up comedy and loved spending quality time with family and friends. In addition to his mother, David was predeceased by his wife Theresa (Santa) Christian and a granddaughter Briana Christian. He is survived by his children, David A. Christian Jr. and his wife Cindy Mestre of Windsor Locks, CT, Julian I. Christian and Tiffany N. Christian and her husband Roy Mitchell all of Newark, DE, Elba Arroya of Springfield, MA, Joel Rosa of Virginia and Evan D. Rosa of Washington D.C. David is also survived by his siblings Derek R. Christian and his wife Amber of Stratford, CT, Sokoni Christian and his wife Jantre of Pasadena, CA and his sister Tanja Friday of Greenville, SC. He will also be remembered by his 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild as well as special friends Kim and Andre Bledsoe as well as his extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting hours for David will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Rd., Springfield, MA. His celebration of life ceremony will be Tuesday, October, 9, 2018 at 10am at Sampson's Chapel of the Acres. Rites of committal will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., Springfield, MA. Memorial contributions in David's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
