HAMPDEN- Marc G. Benoit, 67, of Hampden passed away October 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Marc, son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Bessette) Benoit, was born in Springfield on August 16, 1951. Raised in Springfield, he was a graduate of Commerce High School Class of 1970. Marc was an owner and operator in the trucking industry for his whole life. He enjoyed watching the car auctions, discovery channel, and history channel in his free time. Marc will be missed by all who knew him, including his beloved wife of 47 years, Donna (Culloo) Benoit; his sons, Michael Benoit and his wife Tina of Wilbraham, and Nicholas Benoit and his wife Kelly of Plymouth; his grandchildren, Emily, Meredith, Hazel, Teddy, and Harry; his sister in law, Diane Culloo-Fields and her husband John of Maine; his beloved dogs, Buster and Daisy; and many extended family members and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff on SW5 Floor at Baystate and Baystate Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Visiting Hours for Marc will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 4PM to 7PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. A Funeral Home Service will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2018 beginning at 11AM. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marc’s memory may be made to T.J. O’Connor Foundation, 66 Industry Ave., Springfield, MA 01104.
