Marilyn Preston Petzold of Wilbraham, Massachusetts was born on April 26, 1925 and died on September 9, 2018. She spent many winters living on Hutchinson Island Florida and summers on Cape Cod, often vacationing with her loving family.
She attended American International College and Bennett’s Secretarial School. She lived in Wilbraham since 1963 and enjoyed her membership in Wilbraham Women’s Club and Wilbraham Garden Club. For many years she served on the Parent’s Board at Springfield College and was a Director at the Carew Hills Girls Club. She was also a member of Wilbraham United Church.
Marilyn was an avid reader, enjoyed relaxing at the beach, and numerous arts and crafts. She had many wonderful trips around America and the world with her husband.
Her loving husband, Richard, who passed in 2009, was an insurance executive with Monarch Life Insurance and a Captain in the United States Coast Guard. She leaves her wonderful children: Gary and his wife Susan of Wilbraham, Donna Jordan and her husband Ted of Siesta key, Florida, and Debra of East Syracuse, New York. She leaves her special grandchildren who she adored: Sarah Botthof, Thomas Petzold, and Katie Jordan. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
The family celebrated her life in private with a burial in Adam’s Cemetery in Wilbraham. Donations in her memory may be sent to the Wilbraham Public Library, Crane Park Dr, Wilbraham, MA 01095.
