Obituary for John W. Ferris

John W.  Ferris
John (Jay) W. Ferris, 56, passed away Wednesday Feb. 14, 2018. He was born March 6, 1961 to Patricia (Reilly) Ferris. Jay graduated from Cathedral High School in 1980. He worked most of his career in customer service, winning many recognitions. Jay enjoyed gardening, traveling and his dogs, particularly Madison who never left his side. Jay was quick to make new friends wherever he went. Jay loved going to the beach and trying new wines with his nieces and nephews. Besides his mother of Springfield, he leaves his brothers James Ferris and Christopher Ferris, his sister Bridget McCarthy and her husband Patrick, his nephews and nieces; Sean and Daniel McCarthy, Kerry Raymond and Kristin Jaimez, his great nieces and nephews; Destiny, Rihlan, Lyla, Brady and Brooks along with his close friends Patty Corman and Daphne Cave and many close friends in Texas, California and Connecticut. John was also predeceased by his brothers Richard and Michael Ferris. All Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Jay’s name may be made the American Diabetes Assn., 2275 Silas Deane Hwy, 1st Floor N Unit 9, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to the Mass. Commission for the Blind, 1694 Main St., Springfield, MA 01101. The Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres is in charge of the arrangements.
