Kathleen Marie Fleming entered eternal life on November 6, 2018. Kathleen was born on December 18, 1937 in Springfield, MA, daughter of Edward and Kathleen Fleming. Kathy graduated from Cathedral High School and Rhode Island School of Design. Kathy began her career at Hallmark Greeting Card Company, designing greeting cards. When the company closed its location in Southern Connecticut, she moved to New York City. Kathleen began her new career as a legal staff assistant at the Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman, and Dicker Law Firm in New York City. During her active years, in addition to her work, Kathy traveled extensively throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Kathleen became a long time supporter of a young Native American girl, Kanisha, in Arizona through the Government Futures for Children Program. Kathleen frequently attended many cultural events in New York City for 18 years. She especially followed the many ballet companies that debuted in the city. Kathleen became a true New Yorker. After retiring, she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to be near her sister, Patricia Shannon and many nieces and nephews. Five years ago, due to health issues Kathy returned to this area. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Kathleen Fleming; her sister, Patricia Shannon; and a nephew, Scott Fleming. Kathleen leaves a sister Joan Hanifin of Milford, CT; her brothers, Edward Fleming (Jane) and David Fleming (Barbara) both of Longmeadow, MA; and 24 nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours for Kathleen will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM at St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow beginning at 11AM. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA.
