Obituary

SPRINGFIELD- Laura Jo (Cicotte) Raiche, 64, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family. Laura, daughter of Maryrose (Losito) Cicotte of Holyoke and the late Joseph Cicotte, was born in Savannah, GA on June 10, 1954. Raised in Agawam, she attended Agawam High School. Laura worked as a waitress at various local restaurants including Nardi’s and then Clemenza’s in East Springfield and DeNardo’s in East Longmeadow. She also worked as an office administrator for Buxton’s for several years. Laura was an avid cook and enjoyed attending auto racing with her family. Laura appreciated art, she was a fan of the music of Jethro Tull and loved all animals, especially butterflies. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother in law, Timothy Crane. Laura will be greatly missed by all who knew her, including her loving husband of 39 and a half years, Joseph Raiche of Springfield; her daughters, Jennifer Campurciani-DePergola and her husband Vinnie of West Springfield, and Joella Raiche and her partner Mark Surprenant of South Hadley; her sister, Angela Sambrook and her husband Jerry of Southwick; her brother in law, Jeffrey Raiche and his wife Christine of Ware; her sister in law, Lorianne Crane of Ludlow; her nephews, Brian Raiche, Steven Raiche and his wife Jennifer, and Nicholas Crane; her neice, Sara Sambrook-Jones and her husband Matt; her great nephews Branden and Lucas and her great neice Kristina; her lifelong best friend, Renée Hamilton; as well as many additonal family members and close friends. Laura’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Wingate at Hampden for their compassionate care. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker St., Springfield, MA. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Sampson’s Family Chapels have been entrusted with her services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Laura’s memory may be made to Wingate at Hampden, Activities and Music Therapy Fund; 34 Main St., Hampden, MA 01036.

I’m very sorry to hear of your recent loss. We are never fully prepared for such an event. At this time, your grief may be inconsolable and words of comfort inadequate. However, I hope that in the days ahead you will find solace in your fond memories of Laura and in God’s sure promise to restore her to life on a beautiful paradise earth free of the suffering, pain, and death that we are plagued with today.
