Daniel E. Clarke of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, June 18th at Mercy Medic al Center. He was born on April 30, 1958 to the late Francis P. Clarke and Patricia M. Clarke (Sullivan) in Springfield. Daniel served his country in the United State Marine Corps, receiving an honorable discharge in 1976. He then worked for many years at Cyalume as a chemical mixer, and later a manager. Daniel was an avid New York Yankees fan, always proudly cheering them on. He also loved his motorcycle, a Marine Corps themed Harley Davidson. Daniel was predeceased by his parents. He will forever be remembered by his loving family including his wife, Sharon; his children including his daughter, Meriah Clarke of Springfield and son Eric Clarke of Colorado. Daniel is also survived by his brothers: Thomas Clarke and his wife Darlene of Feeding Hills, Michael Clarke and his wife Jeanie of Chicopee, Steven Clarke and his wife Lillian of Ludlow; as well as his sister Carol Meuse and her husband Richard of Ludlow. Family and friends are invited to the Sampson Chapel of the Acres on Tinkham Rd in Springfield from 11am-1pm on Wednesday June 26th for a period of visitation. A funeral home service will begin at 12:30pm. A committal service will military honors will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.
