Esther Ford (Sardone)

Esther Ford, age 78, passed away at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family on July 7, 2019. She was born on Nov 23, 1940 in Canton, Ohio to the late James and Anna (Bucci) Sardone. Esther worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Ludlow Hospital and resided in Wilbraham for 47 years. She was predeceased by her husband Lester L. Ford, her son John Ford and her niece Connie Ann Veillette. Esther leaves two daughters, Ann Bourcier and her husband John of Ludlow and Lynn White and her husband James of Belchertown; two brothers Michael Sardone and his wife Joyce and James Sardone both of Canton, OH; one sister, Julie Jones of Gulf Shores, AL and five grandchildren, Katelyn, Ashlee, Jennifer, Kayla and Nathan. Esther’s wit and intelligence emanated through her bubbly personality, influencing the lives of those she knew. She enjoyed indulging in a good book and perfecting family recipes for her Sunday dinners. She loved spending quality time with her grandkids, especially in the summertime when they gardened together. During her favorite season, she continued the family tradition of baking countless Christmas cookies with the ones she loved, and giving them to others. A Funeral Service will be held on Fri, July 12, 2019 at 8:30 am at Sampson Chapel of the Acres 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield with a Mass of Christian Liturgy at 10:00 am at St Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham. Burial will follow in St Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thurs, July 11, 2019 from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
