Obituary

Margaret Skutnik (Fountain) formerly of Wilbraham, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 13th surrounded by her devoted family. She was born on November 17th, 1938 to the late Wallace and Mildred (Jacques) Fountain in Springfield. Margaret was the ninth child of eleven in her family growing up. Margaret, along with her late husband Stanley Skutnik, ran the 1880 Bed and Breakfast in Ware where they hosted guests for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Stanley in April of 2019. Margaret will be remembered by her family including her son Jeffrey and his wife Kelly of Enfield, her daughters Michelle Sawyer and husband Bruce of Wilbraham, Kimberly Anderson and her husband Russell of Wilbraham. She also is survived by her sisters Donna Kearney and husband Thomas of Enfield, Lorraine Arsenault of Wilbraham, and Marilyn Lunt and husband Earl of Springfield; as well as her grandchildren Sarah Rafferty (Sawyer), Courtney Skutnik, Ryan Sawyer, Danielle Sawyer, Katherine Anderson, Megan Anderson and Charles Harrigan and one great grandchild, Michael Ryan Rafferty. Family and friends are invited to A Memorial Service on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11am at Sampson Chapel of the Acres 21 Tinkham Rd. Springfield with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Massachusetts: 264 Cottage St Springfield, MA 01104.
