Obituary

Louis T. Bretta, 76, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on August 13, 2019. Born on August 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Carl and Angelina (Tarantino) Bretta. Louis was a United States Air Force Veteran and then worked as a Machinist for United American Bosche and United Technologies for many years before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and making and flying model airplanes. Louis also loved spending time with his family especially his dinners with his grandchildren. Louis will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Louis was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years Barbara Jean (Kemple) Bretta who passed away in 2011. He leaves one son, Thomas Bretta and his wife Dorota of Wilbraham and their children Brianna Laprey and her husband Seth, Anthony, Nicholas, Preston and Scarlett Bretta; two beloved daughters, Lisa Bretta of Springfield and Julie Hannoush and her husband Nabil of Westfield and their children Marie Reynolds and her husband Steven, Monica Guarnieri and her husband Jeff and Matthew and Marissa Hannoush; one brother, Ronald Bretta and his wife Lillian of East Longmeadow; one sister Linda Bretta of East Springfield; one great grandchild Sylvie Laprey and his companion Dottie Winslow. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main St. Wilbraham with burial to follow with Military Honors at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4p.m. to 7p.m. at Sampson Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
