SPRINGFIELD- Lucille R. Leli, 62, of Springfield passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on September 16, 2019 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nuring Center. Lucille, daughter of Lucille (Ciresi) Leli and the late Joseph Leli, was born in Staten Island, NY on April 7, 1957. She was a graduate of West Babylon High School and went on to attain her Bachelor’s Degree at Western New England College. She then earned her Master’s Degree at Cambridge College. Lucille worked as a teacher at Birchland Park School in ELM and Holy Cross for many years. Lucille enjoyed the beach, dancing, cooking, and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her mother, she will be missed by all who knew her, including her beloved wife, Eileen Lavin; her brother, Joseph Leli (Sarka) of NC; her sisters, Jo Ann Randazzo (Vito) of CA, Kathleen Keller (Peter) of NY, Maureen Raiha (Bradley) of NY, Colleen DiFiglia (Chris) of NY, Joanne Lund (Scott) of NY; and Patrice Raiha (Brent) of NY; her 24 nieces and nephews; her 13 great nieces and nephews; her cat, Murphy; and many extended family members and friends. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center for their compassionate care. Visiting Hours for Lucille will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 4PM to 7PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Friends are invited to meet directly at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 417 Boston Road, Springfield on Wednesday, September 18,2019 at 10AM for Lucille’s Liturgy of Christian Burial. A period of visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 11AM to 1PM at Claude R. Boyd- Spencer Funeral Home, 448 West Main St., Babylon, NY. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lucille’s memory may be made to East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center Activity Fund, 305 Maple St., East Longmeadow, MA 01028 or The National Organization for Rare Disorders, Attn: Department 5930, P.O. Box 4110, Woburn, MA 01888.
