Michael G. Cameron, 90, of Longmeadow passed away September 18, 2019 at Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow. Michael, son of the late Dorothy Dawes, was born in Milford, VT on December 20, 1928. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. Michael was a superintendent for Rafferty-Brown Steel Company in East Longmeadow for many years. He was an avid gardener and loved to cook. Michael was also an avid RedSox fan. Above all, Michael was very family oriented and loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his wife, Christine L. (Tassinari) Cameron on July 10, 1998. He will be missed by all who knew him, including his son, Ron Cameron and his wife Donna of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter, Diane Brehaut and her husband Richard of South Ft. Myres, FL; his son, Robert Newsome and his wife Judy of Woodstock, VT; his grandchildren Michael N. Cameron, Jennifer Newsome, and Debbie Richardson; and his great granddaughters, Mia Juliette, Loretta Pearl, and Catalina Winter. Visiting Hours for Michael will be held Monday, September 23, 2019, from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 10:30AM. Rites of Committal and Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association of MA, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
