Feeding Hills- Lorene “Lori” A. (Laplante) Morin, 74, of Feeding Hills passed away October 3, 2019 at her home. Lori, daughter of the late Raymond J. and Isabel V. (Masuleitis) Laplante, was born in Gilbertville on May 15, 1945. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School Class of 1962. Lori went on to attain her B.A and Master’s Degree in education from Westfield State College. She worked as an English teacher for Holyoke High School where she retired after 30 years of faithful service. In retirement she co-wrote two books. Lori loved to travel, especially cruising with her husband Richard and other friends and family. Lori enjoyed going to the theater and out with her friends for dinner. She was always up for a shopping trip or other adventures. The love of her life was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Morin. Lori will be missed by all who knew her, including her son, Robert R. Morin of Columbia, MD; her daughter, Melissa A. Romaszka and her husband Craig of Howell, NJ; her grandchildren, Justin Romaszka, Anthony Morin, and Mia Marie Morin; As well as her sister, Jacquie Taylor of Ft. Myers, FL; her nephew, Todd Taylor; and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Visiting Hours for Lori will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 4PM to 7PM at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Road, Springfield. Family and Friends are asked to meet on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church, 1103 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lorene at 10AM. Rites of Committal and Interment will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Springfield Street Cemetery, Feeding Hills at 1PM. Memorial donations in Lori’s memory may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or T.J. O’Connor Foundation, 66 Industry Ave., Springfield, MA 01104.
