Eleanor F. (Sullivan) Haggerty passed away peacefully on December 2, 2019 at Chicopee Gardens. Daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Fitzgerald) Sullivan, she was born in Springfield on December 3, 1932 and went on to graduate from Cathedral High School. Eleanor was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of and spending time with her family. She also loved to go to Bingo with her friends and listen to Sunday Irish music on the radio. Eleanor will be dearly missed by all who knew her, including her daughter, Kathleen Pierce and her husband Edward, of Glastonbury, Ct; her three sons James Haggerty and his wife Joanne of Little River, SC, Charles Haggerty and his wife Katie of Wellesley, MA, and Thomas Haggerty of Springfield, MA; her brothers Robert Sullivan and his wife Helen and Edward Sullivan, all of Springfield; her sisters Marian Rogers of Springfield and Kathleen Cavallo and her husband Frank of Agawam; her 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Haggerty and her brother Raymond Sullivan and. Visiting hours for Eleanor will be held Friday, December 6 at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres, 21 Tinkham Rd, Springfield, from 9am-11am followed by a funeral home service beginning at 11 am. Rites of Committal and internment to immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd, Springfield.
